Prayers

Please help your child to learn any prayers they have not passed. Prayer Partners will hear prayers through April 16th. If your child needs more time, I will invite them to meet with me during the summer to complete this requirement. It is truly a privilege to pray with your child, and I would look forward to seeing them.

Progress Reports

Grades 1-5 will receive their progress reports at their last class on April 23rd. Junior High reports will be mailed.

Policies & Standards for Volunteers Working with Minors

As requested by the Diocese, every family is receiving a copy of the "Policies" and "Standards". In the future only new families will receive this publication.

Catechists Needed

Has God been calling you to teach in the Religious Education Program? Is this the year? Please call me at 630-858-3796 X4109 for an appointment so we can complete all the paper work and discuss which grade or position would be best for you.

Re-Registration Packets

Packets will be picked up by grades 1 & 2 parents and sent home with the youngest child of the family in grades 3-5 on April 16. Families with their youngest child in Junior High will have their packets mailed so that you would have the opportunity to return them before the last class.

Vacation Bible School - June 23-27

Join the lab crew at St. Petronille as we discover Jesus' miraculous power! We'll use a science lab theme to hear God's Word, create crafts, play exciting games, sing songs, and enjoy delicious snacks. Do your kids like slime? They won't be disappointed! The program also provides a unique Catholic perspective: a Catholic saint-of-the-day, Catholic social Justice Awareness, and music created just for Catholic kids. Registration forms will be included in your registration packet.

Some Closing thoughts

Lastly, thank you for partnering with the parish in the faith formation of your child. This year has truly flown by. Some highlights for me were the sacramental and grade retreats, an awesome Stations of the Cross with our Junior High students, the Parables with the Grade 3 parents, Stations with the Grades 4 & 5 students and parents, Grade 4 Benjamin's Box, and the challenge (Opportunity!) to keep the integrity of some of the lessons without using food! These are just a few activities off the top of my head and I know there are many more. I asked the catechists very recently to tell me the good news of their class. I think this would also be a good time before we begin the changes in next year's lesson plans to ask you to also share the good news of your child's grade. Please e-mail me at tutajs@stpetschurch.org so I can pass it on to our awesome volunteer catechists.

Have a Blessed Easter Season and a safe summer!
